Product information "LPUVB02 radiometer sensor"

Amplified radiometric probe for outdoor use for measuring the irradiance in the UVB spectral range (peak at 305 nm). Typical sensitivity 5 V/(W/m²), measuring range 0...1 W/m², impedance 10 KΩ, power supply 7...30 Vdc, typical current consumption 3 mA.

The radiometer LPUVB02 measures the global radiation in the UVB spectral range on a flat surface (Watt/m²). In particular, the spectral sensitivity of the instrument is centred at 305 nm with a bandwidth of 5 nm (FWHM). Global radiation is the sum of direct solar radiation and diffuse sky radiation on a surface parallel to the ground. In contrast to the visible spectrum, where the direct component predominates over the diffuse component, in the UVB spectral range the light is strongly scattered by the atmosphere and thus the two components are equal.

It is therefore of utmost importance that the instrument can accurately measure both components.
The LPUVB02 probe is typically used in the following industries:

Ozone layer monitoring. In fact, radiation around 295 nm-315 nm is strongly absorbed by ozone, which is in the stratosphere, so any small change in the ozone layer corresponds to an increase or decrease in the radiation reaching the ground.
Effects of UVB radiation (the most harmful to human health) on living organisms.
