measuring principle
The tank with the submersible float for gust recording is located below the recorder housing. The filling liquid is water, in rooms at risk of frost an equally heavy, frost-proof mixture is used. The pressure lines are connected by means of the enclosed rubber hoses in such a way that the total pressure coming from the tip of the windvane is under, the static pressure above the float is effective. This arrangement ensures that the float is only adjusted by the dynamic pressure. The parabolic float shape causes a root extraction, so that the deflections of the root from the dynamic pressure, i.e. the wind speed, are proportional. In contrast to diaphragm movements, the submersible float is free of signs of ageing and after-effects.
Translation links. The large cross-section of the pressure lines ensures that even brief gust peaks are well recorded. The middle nib registers the wind path in alternating rising and falling curves by passing through the diagram section in alternating directions for every 10 km of wind path.
This section is divided into 10 intervals. One interval corresponds to 1 km wind path. Through
Counting these wind path intervals registered within one hour, the average wind speed in km/h is obtained.
The two upper nibs, each of which is assigned to one half of the compass rose, record the wind direction in stepless curves.
