Product information "UV-A-Radiometer sensor"

UV-A sensitivity

The long-wave UV radiation (over 313nm) tans the skin and strengthens the human immune system. The short-wave UV range (below 313nm) can cause irreversible damage. The recommendation of the CIE (Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage) summarizes all spectral effects which can adversely affect human skin. This recommendation is described in DIN 5050 and is a guideline. A popular measure for sundial sensitivity is the UV index "UVI" determined by the DWD.

UV-A measuring head

The measuring head detects the UV-A radiation (globally weighted from 315 nm to 400 nm). The results of the measurements provide a direct insight into the medically and biologically relevant contexts of these radiation regions.

The measuring head is used in areas of medical and biological research, weather information and forecasting systems, climate research and general population information. The measuring head has a weather-proof, anodised aluminum housing. The measurement is cos corrected. The device is made of UV-transparent quartz glass.
