SD6 Sunshine Duration Sensor

SD 6 measures sunshine duration. Sunshine duration is defined by WMO as the time during which the direct solar radiation exceeds the level of 120 W/m².

The SD 6 has no moving parts and uses 16 photo-diodes with specially designed diffusers to make an digital calculation of when it is sunny. The output is switched high or low to indicate sunny or not sunny conditions. The SD 6 operates from 24 VDC power and has built-in 48VAC/DC- heaters to dissipate rain, snow and frost. These are normally switched by a internal thermostat controll.

The humidity indicator shows clearly when a change of drying cartridge is necessary. A waterproof plug-and-socket cable connection for easy installation and servicing. The larger screw on drying cartridge is easier to change at extended intervals.
