Product information "PAR-Sensor"

The light plays a crucial role with the plant growth. The absorption of light (primarily by chlorophyll) stimulates the photosynthesis and Kohlenstoffdioxid and water are converted photo-chemically into glucose and oxygen. The light which can use a plant for this process is called Photosynthetically Active radiation (PAR).

McCree has determined in 1972 a standardised PAR area of the visible light between 400 nm and 700 nm of wavelength in which every photon is absorbed in the same manner. "Blue" photons with short wavelength (to higher frequency) have more energy than "red" photons with bigger wavelength. The quantity the PAR is called generally photo-synthetic photon stream density (PPFD) and is expressed in µ mol / m²:s.

In the farming a careful control of the light intensity is necessary for the optimisation of the harvest time and harvest quality in greenhouses.

In the forestry the par quantity plays a crucial role. It can be measured, in the midst of and under the crown end to determine valuable data to the plant physiology and Belaubung.

In the agriculture the measurement the PAR radiation helps in the Prognostizierung of the plant growth and the crops.

The PAR quantity sensor was developed for them exact, continuous measurement the PAR radiation outdoors and inside. His robust construction protects him against rough environmental factors everywhere in the world and against the effect of pesticides.

For field uses with which the measuring values should be indicated on a real-time basis, the PAR the sensor can be connected in the UNIVERSITY WHEEL which also acts as a data lugger.

In fix installations the PAR sensor can be connected to a data logger.
