CNR4 - Net Radiometer

The net radiation is the balance of the incoming solar radiation and the radiation going off from the earth's surface. Short-wavy radiation in the wavelength area of from 0.3 to 3 µ m reaches the earth's surface where a part of this radiation is reflected and the remaining energy is absorbed. The incoming long-wavy distant infrared radiation (FIR) in the area of from 4.5 to 40 µ m is also absorbed by the surface of the earth which heats up accordingly and delivers then again FIR to the sky.

Main areas of application of net radio metres to the measurement of the radiation balance are the agro-meteorology, and here especially the investigation of the Evapotranspiration, as well as the climatology, meteorology and hydrology. The supervision of glaciers and ice fields is for the investigation of the global warming of special interest. Net radio metres are also often used in connection with small, automatic weather stations and, hence, must be transportable.

The CNR4 is a 1 4 components-net radio metre for exact and reliable measurements and can be used even as an authoritative device for networks from nachrangigeren net radio metres. Four components of the net radiation are: the incoming and reflected radiation from which the Albedo can be derived, as well as the infrared radiation directed down and upward. Though these parametres can be measured by means of two Pyranometer and two Pyrgeometer, the measurement with the 1 net radio metre which unites the different sensors in one single instrument is more commonly however.

The screwable on assembly stick, the integrated Nivellierlibelle and cables with water resistant plug connectors make easier the installation. The white sunshade reduces the Aufheizung of the instrument case by solar radiation.

The CNR4 exists of two Pyranometern for the solar radiation and two Pyrgeometern to the measurement of the infrared radiation, everybody combinedly in a case. The upwards directed Pyrgeometer has a meniscus-shaped silicon cathedral, the waters allows to trickle down and a view field of 180 ° granted. As accessories there is a ventilation unity with optional heating, the CNF4 which minimises of offset which improves stability and prevents rope's accumulations.
