Product information "Tensiometer"

Tensiometers serve the determination of the soil moisture.

The determination of the soil moisture tension (Tension) of the soil is carried out by means of a ceramic cell.

The Pressure sensor is temperature and pressure dependent calibrated with storage of sensor identification and calibration data.

The Pressure sensor provide an optimal combination of ease of use of mobile Feldtensiometer with the electronic data capture. As with the IOP 100 Feldtensiometern the measuring system from a V2A standpipe (Ø 10 mm) and V2A-tip, and a brass-supporting body and a ceramic cell (SKA 100 FF, 10x24 mm). The detection of the suction pressure via a highly sensitive pressure transducer in light metal tensiometer head (IP65). A signal amplifier in the tensiometer head and shielded cables allow interference-free transmission of data over long distances. The standard cable length is 5 m.

The IOP 152 is specifically designed for demanding applications, and is different in the pressure sensor used. The used stainless steel diaphragm sensor is durable and resistant to aggressive media. Therefore, the IOP 152 is recommended particularly in contaminated and highly saline soils. Also, the IOP 152 is protected from frost in the installed state, since the pressure transducer is located directly on the ceramic candle and the water reservoir is thus only in the installation depth. The standpipe made of plastic (PVC Ø = 25 mm) minimizes temperature line from colder bottom layers. When installed in near-surface layers of soil that freezes Tensio 152 with the ground, but is immediately functional again after thawing and sets the measurement continues. It is, as well as the IOP 151, suitable for year-round use and long-term monitoring of soil water potential. Ceramic candle and standpipe are connected together via a transparent acrylic adapter, are easy to spot in the air pockets. The integrated therein filling screw allows easy refilling of the tensiometer which can be done by the customers themselves.

The device consists of:

  • Leichtmetalltensiometerkopf (IP65) with integrated 2-channel sensor MicroBrain (IMP bus interface)
  • high-resolution imaging transducer,
  • PT100 temperature sensor,
  • Acrylglasbefülleinrichtung coupled to ceramic candle (P80, 20 × 50),
  • PVC standpipe (20 mm) and
  • 5 m connection cable.
  • Following standpipe lengths are available: 30, 60, 90, 100,200 and 300 cm.
