HIM PVC zeppelins as object carriers
Impeller airships, also called blimps, are airships without a rigid inner framework. The airship shell is the container for the carrier gas and the supporting system at the same time, which results in a similarity to balloons. Their aerodynamic shape is obtained by the shape of the shell and a slightly inflated internal pressure. Impact airships are to be distinguished from rigid airships, whose shape is maintained by a rigid inner skeleton.
The largest manufacturer of impact airships is the company Goodyear. Impact airships are colloquially referred to in German as "zeppelins", which is why almost all pre-war airships flown over German soil were actually zeppelins. Originally, the term Zeppelins was limited to airships Luftschiffbau Zeppelin and Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik whose characteristic feature was rigid or semi-rigid construction. In the past, however, such airships were also from other manufacturers.
